Welcome to Blooms and Bliss Farm

Blooms and Bliss farm is about more than flowers. We see flowers as mother nature’s way of beckoning us to take a look at the abundance and beauty of life outside – flowers are an invitation to enjoy the bliss of the moment.

To appreciate a flower is to find gratitude for the dazzling diversity of blooms, and the vast array of creatures that make them possible.

Magnolias were among the earliest flowering plants, but did you know that beetles are their primary pollinators? Beetles were pollinating plants before their charismatic cohorts the bees & butterflies existed! The simple flower structure of magnolias, leathery texture, and hardened carpel are all adaptations for the beetle’s rather rough approach to pollination.

Part of our mission here at the farm is to give homage to the underdog pollinators and creatures that dwell in and facilitate the growth of our gardens. This is why we’re committed to cultivating with compassion and no-till regenerative practices.

We believe in a compassionate approach that acknowledges “pests” as part of the system, and we don’t use any chemical or organic pesticide control products.

Our approach not only benefits the flowers we grow but also supports the local wildlife, including frogs, birds, and beneficial insects. By embracing no-till farming, we enhance soil health and promote biodiversity, ensuring that our farm remains a vibrant part of the Puget Sound community.

In turn, we’re rewarded with many blissful moments in the garden gazing at all its wonderful guests! The more we plant, the more visitors we get, and the more wonderful flowers we can share with you which is what puts the bliss in Blooms & Bliss.

Our name is also a nod to an old family name – Bloomquist. The Swedish translation of this name is “flower branch”. It’s meant to symbolize growth, beauty, and our connection to nature.

We hope our locally grown flowers inspire folks to cultivate with compassion, and to feel the bliss that comes with being connected to each other and to nature.
